What is Jukebox Plugin System?

JPS is plugin system, that is supported by several Jukebox apps. This system is free for use for both end user and for Jukebox Application Authors.

What is a Plug-in?

A plug-in is a seperate peice of software that in most cases is not written by the author of the main application. Plug-ins are triggred by certain events occuring in the main application.

For example:
On a Jukebox Application on a song start it will send out a trigger (that includes information) at that time. The Plug-in can use that trigger to do with what they wish, examples like these:

  • Flash a LED
  • Display the song name and other details on a LCD
  • Speak the song details
  • Trigger a sound effect
  • Write details to a file log
  • etc....

How do you install a Plug-in?

  • Download the plug-in of you choice on the Jukebox Software section.
  • Drop the .jps file into the ‘plugins’ folder of your Jukebox application.
  • Some plugins might need a subfolder with external files used. Consult readme in these plugins.
  • Under the Plug-in’s configuration section of your Jukebox software enable and configure the plug-in. Specific instructions on how to do this will be provide with the plug-in as the will all vary in method.
  • This Website purpose is to inform users of new development in Jukebox Plug-ins.
